The Artist
Tom Davis is a writer, actor and stand-up comedian best known for his BAFTA and Royal Television Society award-winning comedy series MURDER IN SUCCESSVILLE . The cult BBC3 series, which he co-wrote with James De Frond, was a mix of cop show meets reality TV, and Successville is a surreal place with a high celebrity homicide count. The Telegraph said MURDER IN SUCCESSVILLE is “at the sharper end of comedy’s cutting edge”.
Davis and De Frond’s next collaboration, a brand new comedy drama for BBC One called KING GARY , follows Gary King (Davis) and love-of-his life, Terri (Laura Checkley) as they bowl through family-life in the suburban ‘Butterchurn Crescent’. Other cast includes Simon Day (The Fast Show) as Big Gary; Neil Maskell as Winkle (Humans) and Romesh Ranganathan (The Misadventures Of Romesh Ranganathan) as Stuart. It will air on BBC in the New Year.
Other notable projects include ACTION TEAM , a spoof spy action-thriller with a cast that included Vicky McClure, Derek Riddell, Stephen Graham and Jim Howick; THE MORGANA SHOW (C4) , BAD EDUCATION (BBC3/Netflix), DRUNK HISTORY (Comedy Central), COCKROACHES (ITV2), BIG SCHOOL (BBC1), PLEBS (ITV2), A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN: EUROPEAN ROAD TRIP (Sky One) and JUDGE ROMESH (Dave) .
In film, Tom has been seen in FREE FIRE , PREVENGE and PADDINTON 2 as the memorable ‘T-Bone’.
Previously, Tom was chosen by an industry panel to be part of BAFTA’s ‘ Breakthrough Brits ’ in association with Burberry, which highlights and supports exciting and emerging talent in film, TV, production and gaming each year.
