A highly-regarded pianist, composer and music teacher, Louis has kindly drawn on a lifetime of friendships and connections to act as the lynchpin of Art in a Box. Never in danger of suffering a dull moment, his many achievements have included playing the accordion with Madness, featuring as a keyboard player on many of Graham Coxon’s solo albums, acting as the raconteur and stylophone player for Charlie’s band The Higsons, appearing on the Fast Show and regularly contributing to the spoof phone in show Down the Line for BBC Radio 4. Louis has also played innumerable sessions for artistes as diverse as The Nutty Boys, The Auteurs and Robyn Hitchcock, while he lists George Harrison and Beth Orton among his former students. As well as being a great pianist, Louis is also a talented visual artist and has created the album art for his solo projects. A trustee of Upbeat, his latest solo album, Midnight in Havana, came out in 2013.
